The 'Maiden England' Bonneville Chop is FINISHED!!
One of the most complicated projects I have yet attempted is coming to a close!!! Iron Maiden have been a huge favourite of ours since we can remember and we wanted to celebrate this by dedicating an icon of a british bike to the best british heavy metal band on the planet!
It must be seen to be fully appreciated, but lyrics from 'The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg' and 'Journeyman' feature on the frame tubes, the tank features portraits of the band taken from a reworked montage that I did in house of photos from the 'Dance of Death' album, along with incorporating the starburst effect seen on the CD itself. The Triumph tank logo nods towards towards the famous Iron Maiden lettering. The front fender features a minature of the same album cover, along with a mirrored IM logo. The oil tank happened to be the same diameter of the CD, so the disc artwork was faithfully reproduced in full. The MAIDEN ENGLAND stamp (from the album of the same name) was taken and used to name the bike. Perhaps the most famous of all IM icons, 'Eddie' can be found on the rear fender - I wanted to avoid the usual cliche's so decided instead to take the possibly lesser known version or the mascot from the early vinyl record centres. It still needs wiring and the fuel system connecting to make it ready for the MOT, but, the Jo-Bill Spirit Project Chop Finished in Alfa Romeo red flake, with a union jack as a final reminder of this nation producing awesome bikes and even louder rock bands, 'Maiden England' will travel with us to shows for your enjoyment and stay with us for a long time to come!
